rrdtool 是 MRTG 的作者Tobias Oetiker同学的又一重要贡献

rrd 代表 Round Robin Database

是一个很有个性的数据库 不增大

DS 和 RRA 共同构成了数据部分

DS:var:DST:heartbeat:min:max

RRA:x:CF:w:step:row

rrdtool 本身提供创建、更新、作图等全系列的接口

Valid commands: create, update, graph, dump, restore,

                last, info, fetch, tune, resize, xport

rrdtool 的重要意义在于简化了绘图和对历史数据的处理

DS 部分 DST 主要有4个

        Values       = 300, 600, 900, 1200

        Step         = 300 seconds

        COUNTER DS   =    1,  1,   1,    1

        DERIVE DS    =    1,  1,   1,    1

        ABSOLUTE DS  =    1,  2,   3,    4

        GAUGE DS     = 300, 600, 900, 1200

RRA 部分的 CF 也是四个

AVERAGE, MINIMUM, MAXIMUM, and LAST

perl 的 module 也可以轻松调用

通过 bash perl 等做自己的脚本可以轻松的做出自己想要的东西
